Artist's Statement

Like a writer writing a memoir—I began to paint stories of my childhood memories. I used stills from family films taken in the early 1960s and used them as reference for my paintings. The images are from family holidays, birthdays and vacations. Working from these stills I began to explore the idea of painting memories.
